Don't stress yourself out on your way to relax, make sure you know where to go and what to expect when traveling to Pumpkin Island.
Before heading to
Yeppoon, find out more about road conditions and traffic.
This hidden gem is located
13.8 kilometres from
Yeppoon, with the nearest airport in
Rockhampton.
There are numerous regular commercial flights available daily from
Sydney, Melbourne and
Brisbane into
Rockhampton, Central Queensland with
Qantas, Virgin Blue and Tiger Airways. For self drive holiday makers, Rockhampton is
635km north of Brisbane and
1,072km south of Cairns.
Upon arrival at
Rockhampton Airport, a
45 minute trip by car to
Yeppoon’s Keppel Bay Marina awaits.
Little Johnny's Tours provide a convenient
transfer option from Rockhampton Airport to Keppel Bay Marina. Alternatively rental cars or taxi services are on hand from Rockhampton Airport. A bus service is also available for pickup from Rockhampton Airport with a drop off at Keppel Bay Marina on
Youngs Bus Services.

Pumpkin Xpress gets you to the island with less hassle and more fun for a small fee of
$25 per adult one way and
$15 per child (12 years & younger) one way. Holding up to 25 passengers, the
Pumpkin Xpress takes around
45 minutes to reach the island.
Pumpkin Xpress departs
Keppel Bay Marina (from the red wharf to the right of the restaurant) at
9am on day of departure. Pickup from Pumpkin Island is at 10am on day of departure.
To assist in maintaining the pristine eco friendly environment, Pumpkin Island has no jetty facilities, so getting your feet wet will be part of the experience. Transfers from Pumpkin Xpress ashore are undertaken by way of our transfer vessel.
As an alternative, there is the option of cruising your own yacht or boat directly to the island. Feel free to discuss with or ask our Pumpkin Island team for anchorage advice. Passengers of Pumpkin Xpress may also
tow their own tinnie to the island for a small fee of
$75 one way.
Charter a
helicopter from
Rockhampton for a short forty-five-minute flight to
Pumpkin Island, or you could arrive in your private helicopter.
